Job Description

Respiratory PRN  

As a Respiratory Therapist, at North Okaloosa Medical Center, you’ll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients. 

Requirements: 

  • An associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) License issued by the State of Florida
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) & Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certifications

About the Job:

  • Under the direction of Physicians and and Respiratory Director, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC, State Regulations, and departmental policies.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.
  • Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Manages mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.
  • Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases as well as administers aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments.
  • Initiates, monitors and manages patient’s oxygen through various devices including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
  • Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
