Who are we?
Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital is a 72-bed facility with all-private rooms, located on a 30-acre medical campus. Accredited by The Joint Commission and a part of Lutheran Health Network, we offer a variety of services, including emergency care, an urgent care center, heart, and stroke care, orthopedics, occupational health, rehabilitation services, a sleep center, a wound care center and a cancer care center providing radiation therapy. LKH has the only emergency department in the county that is an accredited chest pain center and accredited stroke center. We are also the only hospital in the county with inpatient capability. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care with the best possible experience to every patient, every time, and to making a positive impact on our community.
Under supervision of the Laboratory Director performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing according to established policies and procedures. The Medical Laboratory Technologist refers any questionable or abnormal test results to the Pathologist and notifies the appropriate personnel for immediate action. The associate will meet Code of Conduct Standards.
Performs specimen processing and testing in Microbiology. Responsible for test reporting, quality control, and instrument maintenance according to established procedures, to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease. Adheres to all regulatory and facility policies and procedures.
Performs laboratory testing duties in Microbiology
Performs quality control and instrument maintenance
Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues with specimens and test procedures
Able to analyze data and resolve issues with quality control and instrument failures
Performs all duties according to established procedures, and adheres to all regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or nationally recognized certification for Medical Technology (ASCP, HEW, ABOR, or other accredited agency). Must also currently hold or be eligible for Indiana licensure as MT or MLT.
