Patient Accounts Rep I

The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for serving as primary contact person for insurance companies and other payers. This individual performs all needed research to ensure claims are filed timely in accordance with all billing requirements. The Patient Accounts Representative works all vendor/payer audit trails and files secondary claims. Additionally, the Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for obtaining pre-certs as requested. Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must have at least 2 years experience in a physician practice/healthcare setting and at least 1 year experience in patient billing. Excellent computer skills preferred and basic medical terminology. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)

Work may require frequent standing and walking in addition to lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing, sitting, stooping and balancing.  Travel may be required infrequently.  Continuous use of fingers and hands, fine motor dexterity and repetitive action required.  Work requires viewing and typing on computer screens.  Work inside with minimal exposure to outside, frequent noise exposure, mechanical and electrical exposure due to equipment, phone, TV's, computer and fax.
