Laredo Medical Center offers a full range of imaging services to provide patients with diagnostic and therapeutic services. Our imaging and radiology services teams work with doctors, nurses and other clinicians to deliver comprehensive care. Our digital imaging technology allows doctors to access test results immediately, so treatment can begin more quickly. Our trained imaging technologists are certified with advanced registries and are focused on patient safety and comfort. Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:  

Under the direction of a Radiologist, MRI Technologist utilizes Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. An MRI Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instruction, administer contrast materials, perform venipuncture, prepare and operate MRI scan equipment, position the patient to capture the appropriate images, obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Produces MRI images of specific areas as required by the department protocols. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Job Requirement Include:

Education:  

  • Required: High school diploma.
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program.

Experience: 

  • Required: Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate.
  • Preferred: 0-2 years of experience. 

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Required: Completion of a radiologic technology training and A.R.R.T. registration.
  • State license or certification if applicable.
  • Required: CPR within 30 days of hire. 
  • Preferred: Advanced ARRT Registration. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create a 5-star service environment.
  • Comply with organization, department and regulatory standards.
  • Process MRI scans.
  • Perform QC on MRI equipment.
  • Maintain work area.
