We are seeking a Food Services Worker to join our team in a fulltime position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver trays to patients and family members in a kind and timely manner
- Cafeteria set-up and service; receiving, cashiering; delivery food carts or late trays, dish or pot washing
- Assisting with catered events and other related department activities
- Processes diet orders from the order entry system
- Assists patients in their menu selections, either by phone or in person
- Accurately calculates diets
- Participates in patient tray making certain that all diets are assembled correctly
- Keeps a correct tally of patient meal counts, production sheets, and outgoing nourishments
- When assigned, assumes responsibility for catering, including delivery and proper set up
- When assigned, balances the cafeteria cash drawer
- May be required to open and close the Nutritional Services Department
- Other food and nutrition department related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food Handler's Permit Required within 30 days of hire
- Hospital experience or experience in a large commercial kitchen highly desired
- Prefer quantity food production experience
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with little or no supervision
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks well
- Ability to work productively in a team setting
- Basic understanding of normal and therapeutic diets and food safety
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication, both written and oral
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
- Commitment to excellent customer service
