Student Apprentice - CVICU - PRN

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician (PCT)/Student Apprentice delivers high quality, patient-centered care  by performing a variety of delegated patient care services in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department within the Acute Care Setting.  The PCT works under the clinical direction of  the registered nurse (RN).

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure:

• None required.

Experience:

• No specific experience is required; however experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in Nursing Program is preferred. 
• Lutheran will provide a formalized training class; successful completion is required in order to continue employment.
• Additional orientation specific to unit responsibilities may also be provided.

Education:

• High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) preferred
• Currently Active and in good standing in a Nursing Program (RN/ASN/BSN)

Registration/Certification:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days from start date in position. Successful completion of unit required education classes (ie: Intro to EKG, etc.) Must complete within the first 30 days of hire date, as applicable.
