Job Description

Ultrasound Technologist - Full Time in the Radiology/Imaging Unit at Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital

  • Eligible for sign on bonus - up to $25,000! 
  • Full Time: 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts
  • 1 weeknight of call and 1 weekend of call rotation.
  • Call rotation required - weekends and weeknights. Call response time: 1 hour.

  • Join a collaborative team of ultrasound technologists! This team conducts comprehensive, wide-ranging procedures: OB, breast, vascular, and many other subsets. Also offers many specialized procedures.

Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital is a 72-bed facility with all-private rooms, located on a 30-acre medical campus. Accredited by The Joint Commission and a part of Lutheran Health Network - LKH has the only emergency department in the county that is an accredited chest pain center and accredited stroke center. We are also the only hospital in the county with inpatient capability. 

Job Summary:

  • Under general supervision, operates ultrasound equipment to obtain routine and special views of anatomical regions designated by physician orders. In doing so, adjusts Ultrasound technical factors to the correct settings for each exam. Assists physicians in carrying out special order exams.

    Receives or escorts patients into the examination area; reviews pertinent patient information; instructs patients concerning the examination to be performed.
  • Positions patients to obtain and affect the results specified for diagnoses
  • In consultation with radiologist performs optimum diagnostic ultrasound scans using high-frequency ultrasound machines designed to image organs, masses, and fluid accumulations within the body to provide diagnostic information for interpretation by the physician
  • Operates all equipment properly and with care and regularly performs maintenance and quality control work. Immediately reports any malfunctions, necessary adjustments, or repairs.
  • Performs first aid as required and assists in cases of adverse reaction to contrast media or in other emergencies.
  • Observes and practices sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases

Education

  • Successful graduation from a nationally accredited school of Sonography.

Licenses & Certifications

  • C-ARRT Sonography
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ARDMS certification or registry eligible.—must be ARDMS registered within 1 year of hire.
  • Responsible for maintaining all necessary education set by ARDMS and this facility.
