The Administrative Office Coordinator / MA (Medical Assistant) / Wound Care Tech manages a variety of front office functions and is key to the operation of a dynamic outpatient wound care center, as well as performing general office and clinical duties to assist the staff of the WCC. This individual serves in a dual administrative/clinical role to streamline workflow in providing effective and exceptional patient care. In addition, functions include gathering and reporting data, vital signs, clean and restock rooms, removal of wound care dressings, and basic wound cleansing in preparation for clinical evaluation by licensed staff. These tasks are accomplished in a manner consistent with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Center under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate’s degree preferred. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. BLS Required.
Experience: Six or more months of related experience in an acute hospital, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit preferred. Two or more years of office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting. Wound care experience preferred. Prior medical coding experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Certification as a nursing assistant or medical assistant is preferred, but not required. Current BLS required.
