RN Lutheran Ground Team!

Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana is looking for Registered Nurses (RN) to join our Lutheran Ground team! Welcome bonus eligible for full time positions, along with tuition reimbursement, loan repayment and enhanced benefits!

RN Lutheran Ground
Par time: .6 FTE (2 - 12 hr shifts every weekend)
Weekend premium (Sat/Sun rotating days/nights.)
Welcome Bonus eligible for up to $12,500!

Lutheran Hospital is a Level II acute care facility, with a high acuity patient level, therefore you must be able to adapt quickly, act autonomously within the guidelines, have critical thinking skills to assess patient need, and an ability to prioritize as patient needs fluctuate at any moment! Our Lutheran Ground RN team is looking for RNs experienced in critical care (at least 3 + years), and understand the flexibility required at a moment's notice to care for our community and surrounding area when the unforeseen occurs. 

 MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 Registration/Certification/Licensure:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current CPR (BLS HCP) and ACLS. 
  • Within 1 year of hire, completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent certificate and additional state licensure as Registered Nurse. 
  • Current vehicle driver’s license. 
  • Must meet present hospital insurance carrier’s minimum requirements acceptable under the insurability guidelines related to driving hospital-owned vehicles.
  • Ambulance operators are required to complete defensive driving training program that is developed by the provider or outside agency.  The training must include an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or equivalent, which consists of at least 4 hours of reviewed ambulance driving under emergency conditions.

 Experience:

  • Three years critical care or emergency unit nurse experience preferred. 
  • Quality of previous experience, prior professional or technical experience with relative scope, service, and similar environment, will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • To safely operate within the weight specifications of the aircraft, it is recommended that each staff member not exceed 230 pounds in weight in uniform and boots.
  • Weight will be assessed annually.

 Education:

  • Completion of a nursing program diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
