Job Description

Gadsden Regional Medical Center is a 346-bed acute care hospital with inpatient and outpatient care. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and certified in hip and knee replacements. We have recognized programs in cardiology, pulmonology, sleep medicine and stroke services.

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Coordinator and/or Laboratory Director, a MT/MLT – Shift Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising laboratory operations during assigned shift and performing laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associate degree from an approved MLT (CLT) school. If MT, a bachelor's degree in medical technology or other natural or healthcare science.
 
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: MLT(ASCP) , CLT (NCA) or equivalent certification or registration. If MT- MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) or equivalent certification or registration. 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Successful completion of clinical rotations in an approved program, either MLT or MT.  If MLT, one year of bench MLT experience required.  If MT,  at least five years experience as a registered MLT or equivalent.
