Medical Asst - Laredo Physician Associates PRN

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions: 

Responsible for assisting provider with patient care and performing front duties as designated by provider and/or Office Manager. Responsible for making patient appointments and communicating information to patient and family. Assists with phlebotomy, special collections, EKG's and other duties assigned by director. Ensures the LMC values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operations. The Medical Asst Tech reports to the Director/Office manager, or charge nurse in the unit. Work direction related to patient care may come from the physician as well.

Applicant's Job Requirements Include:

Education

• Required: Complete Medical Assistant training from an approved program or six (6) months patient care experience.
• Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Experience

• Preferred: Prior experience in medical office.
• Preferred: Strong organizational and communication skills with analytical and problem solving skills, Medical terminology.

Licenses/Certifications

• Required: CPR within 30 days of hire .
• Preferred: Certified Medical Asst certificate
