Job Description

  • Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors.
  • Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat.
  • Ensures that monitors are functioning properly.
  • Coordinates admissions, transfers from the ED.
  • Answers telephone and maintains records for the department. 
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred and at least 1 year of experience in the field.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Requires a current American Heart Association-BLS certification prior to hire.
