Job Description

As a Collections Specialist at Community Health Systems, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. Required:

A minimum of six months of related experience is required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

 

About the Opportunity:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow-Up and Collections: Manage all aspects of follow-up and collections, including making telephone calls, accessing payer websites, and verifying adjudication.
  • Account Review and Resolution: Review account information and system applications to determine appropriate actions, identify issues, and suggest resolutions.
  • Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document all collection activities performed.
  • Patient Contact: Initiate telephone or letter contact with patients to obtain additional information as needed.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments to resolve ongoing issues.
  • Professional Development: Attend and participate in meetings, training seminars, and in-services to enhance job knowledge.
  • Communication: Respond promptly to emails and telephone messages. Communicate issues to management, including payer, system, or escalated account issues.
  • Performance Evaluation: Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual performance evaluation process with the Supervisor.
  • Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.

This is a full time, onsite position at Shared Services Center - Sarasota in the Collections Department.
