Lab Director

The laboratory director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital's laboratory services. The laboratory director is expected to work closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. The laboratory director will write and update procedures and manuals as needed and reviews them annually to ensure that employees have current information needed to perform tests and procedures. This role relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The laboratory director is expected to perform a variety of tasks and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. They are to lead and direct the work of others. They will typically reports to top management.  

Licenses and Certifications: Certification in related area required upon hire

Education: Master's degree in a related area

Experience: 7- 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
