Registered Nurse (RN) PRN Position in the Emergency Department at Northwest Health - La Porte Hospital

• PRN: 36 hours per 6 weeks (minimum)
• Must be able to pick up shifts based on staffing needs. This could include night shifts, day shifts, and weekends.

About this unit:

• 18 bed unit
• Large, multi-functional examination rooms with curtains and sliding glass doors
• Private elevator to the helipad, second and third floors
• Cardiac care equipment in all examination rooms
• Centrally located, 360 degree visibility nursing station

Our emergency care teams specialize in caring for patients with acute illnesses or injuries which require immediate medical attention. Northwest Health - La Porte is accredited by the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Accreditation. 

Who are we?

Just off the shores of Lake Michigan in Northern Indiana, Northwest Health - La Porte has been the heart of healthcare in La Porte for more than 40 years. La Porte is a 227-bed hospital providing acute care with strong programs in cardiology, orthopedics, surgical services, emergency care, oncology and maternal health.  As of October 2020, our new and improved La Porte location opened. This location features the latest technology for our staff and providers. Our hospital is La Porte’s only stroke center and nationally accredited chest pain center.

Education: 

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required, BSN preferred.

Licensure & Certification: 

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
• BLS certification must be maintained while in this position
• ACLS certification within 12 months of hire, must be maintained while in this position

Experience: 

• Minimum of 1 year current ED experience required
