Job Description

Surgical Tech

Full Time – Monday through Friday Days, 40 hours a week + Call

$10,000 for Student Loan Repayments

As a Scrub Tech at Houghton Hospital, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Our Imaging staff enjoy a robust benefits package including health insurance, 401K, flexible scheduling, Tuition Reimbursement, and up to 10K for student loan payments.

Requirements:

Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program
-OR-  2 years of on-the-job training
-OR-  7 years of experience working in the field
-OR-  Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience"

Licenses/Certifications: "Required: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) "      

 About the Job:

  • Assists in the care of the surgical patient applying principles of asepsis to perform scrub duties and related activities for surgical procedures
  • Arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed
  • Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.

Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
