Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the procurement of blood specimens via venipuncture or skin puncture technique
- Preparation of specimens for testing and processing including but not limited to receiving and accessioning specimens
- Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory waived test by following policies and procedures
- Ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program
- Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to the manufactures instructions
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.
- Requires High School diploma or GED and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Assists with laboratory billing
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Key Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
