Job Description

Supports both the Cath Lab and Radiology in IR. Assists surgeon during operative procedures by passing instruments, medications, dressings, etc., and often provides retraction assistance. Will conduct assessments and procedures including, but not limited to, angioplasty, nephrostomy, drain placement, and thrombectomy. Utilization of a diverse set of tools and supplied which include advanced imaging and the latest interventional technologies. Set up Surgical trays, inventory, sterile set-up as needed. This role will also pass instruments, administer medications, dressings, transport patients, assist with vital signs, help turnover rooms, and cleaning the operating theater.  Reports to a charge nurse or nurse manager. The completion of a Radiography program that is accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred. High School diploma is required. Previous surgical Scrub Tech or Cath Lab experience is preferred.

Frequently exposed to blood and/or body fluids or potentially infective materials. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
