Education and Formal Training Required:
- Must have a Certificate of Radiologic Technology from an accredited radiology program
Licensure Required:
- ARRT registered
- Indiana State License
- Must be approved for OJT, or be eligible for MRI Boards or MRI Board Certified
- (All MRI Technologists must become Board Certified)
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification
OTHER:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 200 pounds.
- Must attend hospital orientation according to hospital policy. Alternate accommodations may be made for PRN employees that are unable to attend orientation due to other work obligations.
- Must be able to demonstrate skills appropriate to a graduate of an approved radiology program.
- Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations utilizing specific protocols and procedures established by the lead MRI specialist ant the radiologist. Will possess the ability to use a high degree of independent judgment in adjusting MRI parameters to meet patient specific and/or situation specific needs. Ensures that a quality, diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging study is performed while maintaining the highest level of patient comfort possible. Administers contrast according to policy and radiologist guidance.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient (infant, child, adolescent, adult, or geriatric), served on assigned unit/department.
- Must demonstrate verbal communication skills necessary to professionally interact with patients, family members, physicians, nurses co-workers and other departments.
- Must maintain good written communications skills.
