JOB SUMMARY:
The PACS Administrator is responsible for the overall operation of the PACS and end user satisfaction. This
includes but is not limited to image quality, PACS network viability, image movement, IS integration, archival
needs, and technical enhancements to the network. Must have the ability to work interdepartmentally, with
other facilities, physicians, and physicians’ office staff. Functions as the PACS systems analyst by
coordinating support as needed. Must be able to work proficiently under the direction of both the IS and
Radiology department management in regard to departmental and hospital policies and procedures and in
accordance with established state and federal regulations.

Education:
Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or technical training equivalent
Experience:
Experience in Microsoft Networking environment
Experience in hardware and software troubleshooting
Experience with use of Microsoft Windows and Office suite of products
Familiarity with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
1) Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
2) Demonstrates a basic understanding of the role of and relationship with other team members.
3) Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish and
maintain positive therapeutic/working relationships with all internal and external customers, as needed.
