Summary:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for supporting technology contracts, including software, hardware, SAAS, and medical device equipment, for contract review, management, drafting and redlining, negotiation, and internal approvals process and helps ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures. Reports to the Legal team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Drafts, negotiates, and reviews contract agreements, solicitations, RFPs, and Proposals, engages in redlining, communicates with internal stakeholders and vendors, assists with approvals process internally, and functions as domain expert on technology contract areas and issues.
- Develops and manages contract templates.
- Assists in identifying, developing, and implementing new contract policies and procedures.
- Communication: Leads negotiations for complex contractual issues and assists in resolving contract issues and disputes between vendors and business team
- Compliance: Interprets and analyzes contract requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures
- Contract Monitoring: Manages contracts through all stages of contract management lifecycle and monitors fulfillment of contract obligations. Interfaces with business team to ensure all contract and business terms are addressed.
Qualifications
- Required Education: One of the following: Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or Paralegal Certificate
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree In job related field or Paralegal certificate with experience
- Required Experience:
- Min 3 years’ experience in Contract Administration within Supply Chain, Legal, or Healthcare.
- Working/expert knowledge of contracting concepts, contract laws and regulations.
- Strong contract redlining skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong listening skills.
- Strong reading comprehension and ability to issue-spot contracts.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Strong organization and tracking skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment and creativity to resolve contract issues.
- Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
- Preferred Experience: Experience with technology, data privacy, and/or healthcare
- Preferred License/Registration/Certification: Certifications preferred but not required
- Computer Skills Required: Contract Redlining with Track Changes and Microsoft Office required. Google Suite preferred. Willingness to learn Oracle and leverage the training, reporting, and process components to excel at role.
