Echo/Vascular Technologist

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s Degree preferred

Certifications/Experience: 

• Requires certification/registry or current registry to one of the following:
  • CCT (CCI) / RCS (CCI) / RVS (CCI)
  • ARRT (R) / (CV)
  • RDCS (ARDMS) / RVT (ARDMS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the healthcare field.
• Must successfully pass registry in either vascular or echo within one year of hire.

Position Purpose (Summary)
The Echo/Vascular Tech is responsible for performance of ultrasound procedures under the direction of a physician credentialed in interpretation of ultrasound procedures using imaging modalities at a technical level that do not require constant supervision. A sonographer working in CV Services will perform a variety of cardiac and/or vascular procedures. The performance of testing assigned is dependent upon individualized, specialized training and requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
