Medical Technologist
Nights/Rotating Weekends
$7,500 Sign-on Bonus

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field (biological or chemical sciences) is required
  • Will consider candidates with an Associate’s degree in laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution who meet CLIA’88 high-complexity testing requirements.
  • Prefers graduation from an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). 
  • One to two years experience in a generalist role is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Precision and accuracy in performing laboratory procedures.
  • Keen judgment to evaluate information against measurable criteria in the performance of tests.  
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and examine specimens.  
  • Form perception and color discrimination to identify cells and micro-organisms.  
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment.  

About the Job:

  • Assist the Section Supervisor in resolving equipment problems, oversee the teaching and evaluation of students and new employees, and have expertise with specific Laboratory procedures or Laboratory instrumentation.
  • Perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.
  • Ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. 
  • Perform instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department’s policies and procedures. 
  • Perform minor instrument repair as necessary.
