Position Purpose:

Sweeping, mopping, cleaning, waxing, shampooing of all types of floor finishes.  Removal and storage for final disposal of garbage (both infectious and noninfectious) from the hospital building to appropriate collection sites for pickup.  Assist in cleanup of spills of all types.  Removal of dirty linen from all areas of the hospital to collection/holding areas for pickup.  Maintaining dirty linen hampers by removing full bags and replacing them with clean, empty bags.  Emptying the hospital outside trash collection bins and keeping the areas around those bins cleaned of debris.  Assist in furniture moving, high cleaning, and exchanging floor mats.  Performing assigned tasks in accordance with standard procedures established for the department which support the hospital’s objectives.

Ensuring that assigned areas are cleaned to meet established standards using departmental policies, procedures and methods to accomplish these standards.
