Job Description

 Requirements:
  • Licenses: Active Florida Medical Technologist licensure in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology is required.  Supervisory Licensed, preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Sciences, required.  
  • Five (5) - seven (7) years experience is required, previous Supervisor or Manager experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

About the job:

  • Participates in patient rounding, with the leadership team.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams within the hospital is preferred.
  • Responsible for staff competencies and documentation.
  • Plans and implements the overall hospital laboratory policies, procedures, and services for a unit and/or shift.
  • Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including department quality control and compliance adherence.
  • Relies on extensive hospital experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.

ShorePoint Port Charlotte’s is a 254-bed full-service facility with a care team of roughly 900 associates, 100 volunteers, and over 300 physicians specializing in over 40 specialties.
